Syngular’s groundbreaking technology transforms medical scans into ultra-high-definition holographic images, allowing surgeons to visualize a “digital twin” of a patient’s anatomy for enhanced precision during operations. Already implemented in over 50 bone-cancer surgeries at Prince of Wales Hospital, this technology aims to extend its reach to remote and underserved clinics.

Second runners-up: Alcarbo Technologies (Left) and Allegrow Biotech (Right)

Green Vigor was named first runner-up. The company invented a compact hydropower generator that can convert sound and wave energy from water tanks in high-rise buildings into electricity, tapping underutilised sources of urban renewable energy.
Allegrow Biotech and Alcarbo Technologies tied for the second runner-up spot.
Allegrow Biotech, a spin-off from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, created a hydrogel-based platform to simplify the production of immune cells for use in advanced cell therapies, aiming to reduce the cost of such therapies by a factor of 10.
Alcarbo Technologies uses microalgae to capture carbon emissions, offering a low-cost, biological approach to decarbonisation.
Each runner-up team receives €50,000 in funding from Central Cove Group, the family office of Jean Salata, a jury member and Chairman of EQT Asia. Salata, recognising the strength of this year’s entries and eager to champion Hong Kong’s emerging talent, opted to support the initiative directly this year.
